Just Sold Another Website…This Can’t Be Coincidence Can It?

Hey Prosperly fans. Im happy to report that I recently sold another website. And as normally happens, the buyer emailed me out of the blue. It was good timing because I was hoping someone would contact me about that site. I realize that the reason I do so well with this business model of buying and selling automated websites for profit is that I get to work on new websites all the time.

If I was stuck only working on one business I would get bored really quickly. Now having said that I wouldn’t suggest that you start new websites until your current site is making money on auto-pilot. Don’t move onto the next project until you have a good handle on the first.

The site I sold was in the home category and I sold it for just over $50k. This was an 18 month multiple. Now I know that I have had bigger transactions happen but $50k is still $50k and when everyone is talking about how bad the economy is I think it just goes to show that if you do things right you will still make really good money. I have to say there is nothing like having a large sum of money like that show up in your bank account. It really is a good feeling.

  • hi adam, i just signed up for your newsletter and can’t wait to read the ebook. but in the meantime, how much time do you dedicate to building, ranking and making a site profitable before you flip it? or simply, how long does it usually take you to get a site profiting on auto-pilot (before you sell it)?

  • It really depends. The bulk of the work happens in the first couple of weeks but you should always be adding content and building links. As far as flipping goes I would wait for the site to be making a consistent income before I would try to sell it. When I sell has often been determined by people coming to me and asking to buy.

  • Well done! But how come no mention of the site name?

  • Not sure how the buyer would feel about it so I decided to omit it.
